These memorials are on the side of our bomb truck in honor of Sgt. Richard (Dick) Schuening and Senior Trooper Willliam "Bill" Hakim.
 
 
 
 Sergeant Richard Schuening  
Sgt. Richard (Dick) Schuening, a supervisory bomb technician, was killed on October 2, 1997, in an explosion in rural Eastern Oregon while he was preparing to destroy about 450 old blasting caps.  Sgt. Schuening is one of the two OSP officers included in the Umatilla Memorial
 
Detective William Hakim
 
On December 12, 2008, OSP Detective and Bomb Technician William Hakim and members of the Woodburn Police Department were examining a device found at a bank in Woodburn.  The device exploded killling Detective Hakim and Woodburn PD Captain Tom Tennant.  Woodburn PD Chief Scott Russell was seriously wounded
