A.M.B.E.R. Alert Web Portal
3 of 4 abducted children who are killed occur within the first three hours.

The AMBER Alert Web Portal is revolutionizing how we protect our nation’s children.

The AMBER Alert Web Portal developed by the AMBER Alert Web Portal Consortium is a one-stop tool for law enforcement, broadcasters, the public, and other alerting partners to rapidly input, disseminate and access real-time information on an abducted child through every possible means of communication.

The AMBER Alert Web Portal employs next-generation technology that simultaneously activates all known forms of communication to engage and empower every organization, broadcaster and citizen with real-time information needed to save an abducted child’s life. The Portal will, for the first time, link all 50 states into a seamless, national partnership providing detailed, local information on an abducted child right down to the nearest cross streets.

The AMBER Alert Web Portal enhances the definition and functionality of what is used to promote AMBER Alerts.  Currently, states use Emergency Alert System (EAS), which has strived to provide America with up-to-the-minute, life-saving information for more than 30 years. The AMBER Alert Web Portal will provide significant scalability and redundancy to the EAS by simultaneously disseminating real-time information to dozens of alerting partners and the public via emails, pagers, and cell phones, in addition to making AMBER information immediately available on the Internet.

AMBER Alert Web Portal enables law enforcement to sign-in and enter all the necessary data regarding a missing child.  With one keystroke, an officer disseminates this live data and any updates to all affected parties, including all local law enforcement agencies, broadcasters, the Department of Transportation, road signs, probation officers, border agencies, utilities, 911 operators, and any other networks that can engage eyes and ears in the search for the missing child.  And, for the first time, law enforcement officials can communicate live, directly with the public, through a simple opt-in, sign-up process allowing YOU to receive the real-time, locally-relevant AMBER Alerts via different communication devices such as pagers, cell phones, emails, etc.

The AMBER Alert Web Portal instantly issues alerts to broadcasters and local government web sites for their respective geographical regions. With the AMBER Alert Web Portal, vital information on an abducted child can be disseminated within minutes, not hours, thus increasing the chance of the child´s safe return.

The AMBER Alert Web Portal is a proactive resource that provides ongoing educational programs and events throughout the year and is an unprecedented network, designed to recover an abducted child!  Our mission is to become so powerful and prevalent that no one thinks about abducting a child.

The AMBER Alert Web Portal Consortium
The main driver behind the portal is the AMBER Alert Web Portal, a public/private partnership of states, law enforcement, the broadcast media and private corporations. Private corporations support the portal through sponsorships, which cover recurring operational costs, thus making the system available to states, law enforcement, broadcast media and the public at no cost.  In October 2003, the National Alliance of State Broadcaster Associations (NADBA) passed a resolution strongly supporting the AMBER Alert Web Portal.

Consortium members, through the AMBER Alert Web Portal, re-engineer their AMBER Alert business processes, adopt common standards and implement common procedures. This creates an efficient, comprehensive system so that stakeholders such as the broadcast media, the public, law enforcement, enhanced 9-1-1 call centers, other states, transportation agencies, border organizations, corrections officers, probation officers, and others can quickly get important information about an abduction, communicate efficiently, and work together to save the life of an abducted child.
