    OSP Images
The Oregon State Police's Counter-Terrorism Section began as the "Office of Public Safety and Security," following its creation by former Superintendent Ronald C. Ruecker after the events of September 11, 2001.

The activities of personnel assigned to this section include active investigations of international, domestic and biological terrorism with federal law enforcement partners, coordination of similar federal and local investigations, and involvement in domestic preparedness issues. The section also includes the Arson and Explosives Units of the Oregon State Police.

Homeland Security Advisory
The National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) provides a comprehensive and effective means to disseminate information regarding the risk of terrorist attacks to State, and local authorities and to the people of Oregon.

Changes have been made to the NTAS effective January 27, 2011.

In the near future we will modify our OSP website to provide information on the new NTAS.
