Fatal Motorcycle Crash - Franklin Boulevard in Eugene/Springfield Area

A 41-year old Eugene-area woman died Tuesday evening when she lost control of her motorcycle on Franklin Boulevard at Brooklyn Street.
According to Oregon State Police Sergeant Ted Phillips, on March 4, 2008 at approximately 7:13 p.m. a 2005 Harley Davison motorcycle operated by MARGARET ANN CHRISMAN, age 41, from Eugene, was westbound on Franklin Boulevard approaching the intersection with Brooklyn Street when it lost control. CHRISMAN was ejected over the front of the motorcycle onto the roadway where she was struck by the motorcycle.
CHRISMAN was wearing a protective helmet but it came off her head during the crash. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Oregon State Police troopers from the Springfield Area Command office are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. An off duty Lane County Sheriff's Office deputy assisted at the scene along with Eugene Fire Department and ODOT.
