| Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest, Methamphetamine and Cocaine Seizure south of Roseburg |

Oregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of the Douglas County Interagency Drug Team (DINT), arrested a man earlier this week following a traffic stop on Interstate 5 south of Roseburg that led to the seizure of approximately 4 pounds of Methamphetamine and one pound of Cocaine. The drugs were found in a hidden compartment with the help of a drug dog.
On April 2, 2008 at approximately 12 noon, an OSP Senior Trooper stopped a 1997 Ford Explorer driven by LUIS GARIBAY-LUNA, age 31, reportedly residing in Winton, California, northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 113 for impeding traffic. Subsequent to the traffic stop, a sophisticated hidden compartment was located with the help of DINT's drug dog containing five packages with approximately 4 pounds of Methamphetamine and one pound of Cocaine.
GARIBAY-LUNA was taken into custody and lodged in Douglas County Jail on the following charges:
- Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine
- Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine
- Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine
- Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine
Estimated value of the seized methamphetamine and cocaine is approximately $75,000.
