OSP Trooper and Baker County Deputy Find Missing Woman Alive

The following is from a Baker County Sheriff's Office news release:
 
As part of the continuing search for Sandy resident Ora Doris Anderson, a search which began on August 27, 2007, Thursday afternoon at about 2:08 p.m. a search team consisting of a Baker County Sheriff’s Deputy Travis Ash and Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Chris Hawkins located the missing woman alive in extremely rough terrain deep in a canyon near Bennett Creek. A combined effort to coordinate the extrication of the patient was undertaken and involved the following agencies:
  • Baker County Sheriff’s Office
  • Baker County Search and Rescue
  • Oregon State Police
  • Eagle Valley Ambulance
  • Baker County Consolidated 9-1-1 Dispatch
  • Northeast Oregon Interagency Dispatch
  • U.S. Forest Service helicopter rappel crew from Sled Springs
  • U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement Personnel
  • LifeFlight Helicopter- St. Alphonsus Hospital, Boise Idaho
 
At 5: 45 p.m.the patient was removed from the wilderness area and transported to a landing zone by Eagle Valley Ambulance. From there the patient was transported to the hospital by Lifeflight. Any information regarding the patient’s condition will need to be released by the patient’s family or medical provider with consent.
