Death Investigation - Highway 199 near O'Brien

Oregon State Police (OSP) is completing a death investigation following the discovery Sunday morning of a deceased adult female along Highway 199 near O'Brien in Josephine County. The investigation determined the 49-year old woman from O'Brien died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
 
According to OSP Sergeant Tanya Henderson, on October 3, 2010 at approximately 9:18 a.m. a report was received from a local citizen that there was a deceased woman lying in tall vegetation near a vehicle parked alongside Highway 199 near milepost 38. OSP troopers from the Grants Pass and Central Point offices responded to investigate with the assistance of Josephine County Sheriff's Office.
