11/25/2008
Lieutenant Doug Ladd
Oregon State Police - Roseburg
Office: (541) 440-3366

An interagency DUII enforcement patrol conducted last Friday and Saturday nights, November 21st and 22nd, by Douglas County-area law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of 13 intoxicated drivers.  The unannounced enforcement effort is part of an ongoing plan by law enforcement administrators in Douglas County to hold these types of operations in the future.

With the help of the Mobile DUII processing motor home, a total of 13 DUII arrests were reported along with eight citations for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.  DUII arrests reported by participating agencies included:
  • Oregon State Police - 5
  • Douglas County Sheriff's Office - 6
  • Roseburg Police Department - 2

Douglas County Deputy Ken Berry was solely responsible for 4 DUII arrests.

Douglas County-area law enforcement agencies will also be increasing patrol efforts for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  Due to the anticipated normal heavy traffic associated with Thanksgiving weekend, along with additional traffic anticipated for the Civil War football game, area agencies will be scheduling extra patrols at peak times to help keep traffic flowing smoothly.
