Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife Division is seeking the public's help in solving an elk poaching case following the discovery of two elk shot and left to waste in Tillamook County. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered by the Tillamook Chapter of Oregon Hunter's Association for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) in this case.

On December 7, 2007, OSP Troopers Ryan Howell and Adelaido Guerra responded to a complaint of two cow elk shot and left to waste on a spur road off East Fork Trask Bypass about 12 miles south of Highway 6. Investigation indicates a third elk had been taken from the scene.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call Trooper Howell at (503) 815-3362 or OSP Northern Command Center dispatch at 800-452-7888.

A reward bulletin and photograph of one of the poached elk is provided with this release.
