Death Investigation - Ocean Shore North of Florence
12/16/2006
Sergeant Ron Martin
Oregon State Police - Springfield
Office: 541-726-2536

Oregon State Police and Lane County Medical Examiner are investigating the death of an unidentified caucasian adult male found Saturday morning after the body washed onto Baker Beach about five miles north of Florence.

On December 16, 2006 at about 10:30 a.m., a beachcomber discovered the body and notified local authorities. Oregon State Police and local emergency personnel responded. The body was partially clothed and had no identification, and it appeared to have been in the water for an unknown period. The body will be taken to the Eugene area for a pending autopsy.

OSP will be working with US Coast Guard to determine if this case is possibly connected with Friday's investigation of a boat that washed up on a Lincoln County area beach.

No further information will be released pending an autopsy or positive identification.
