Investigators have identified MARISA BELLE HAWK, age 21, as the suspect in last Friday's assault of a Milton-Freewater police officer. The City of Milton-Freewater and the Milton-Freewater Police Association have offered a $1000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

HAWK is described as a Native American female adult, approximately 5'7" tall, 145 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

HAWK allegedly used a vehicle to strike Officer Scott Hays during a felony traffic stop during early morning hours of December 14, 2007. Officer Hays sustained minor injuries and was released from St. Mary's Medical Center in Walla Walla later that day. The incident is being investigated by personnel from the Oregon State Police and the Umatilla County Major Crimes Team.

Anyone with information about the location of the suspect should contact Oregon State Police Detective Mark Banks through OSP Southern Command Center dispatch at 541-276-2121. The suspect is considered to be dangerous, and citizens should not try to apprehend the suspect themselves.
