Lieutenant Ray Duman Criminal Investigations Division - Baker City Office: (541) 523-5848 An investigation into the death of a woman found Tuesday afternoon in the backyard of a residence in the 800 block of 3rd Street in North Powder has been determined to be a suicide. Oregon State Police, with the assistance of Union County Sheriff's Office, conducted the investigation. On December 19, 2006 at approximately 2:45 p.m., Oregon State Police detectives responded to the 800 block of 3rd Street in North Powder regarding a shooting victim. The victim, a 25-year old female, was found in the backyard of her residence with a gunshot wound to the head. Medical personnel had responded but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
