Primary Enforcement Programs - Primary enforcement programs are designed to assist motorists in transiting Oregon´s highways safely and without incident.

Hazardous Violation Enforcement (Accident causing traffic violations)
Impaired Diving Enforcement ( Intoxicated and/or drugged Drivers)
Occupant Safety Enforcement (Seat belt and child restraint laws)
Commercial Vehicle Driving Enforcement (Motor trucks)
Work zone Enforcement (work zone safety)
At Risk Juvenile Behavior (Deter and detect juvenile crime)
Criminal Apprehension through Patrol Enforcement (The apprehension of wanted subjects and contraband in vehicles travelling on the states’ highways)

Support Programs

Primary Support Programs:

Collision Reconstruction Program (scientific analysis of traffic crashes for criminal prosecution and civil litigation)
Drug Detection Canine Program (Canine's helping detect illegal drugs and other evidence on our highways and in communities)
Drug Recognition Evaluator Program (standardized systematic examination of a person suspected of being under the influence of a drug, for the purpose of ascertaining what category of drugs or combination of categories is causing the person's impairment)
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Program (Patrol members targeting large motor trucks for hazardous violations and routinely inspecting those trucks for safety violations)
Non Preference Towing Program (Administrative program that assists in the regulation of non-preference tow trucks by the Department)
Evidence Technician Program (The Evidence Technician Program utilizes professional staff to effectively manage the agency’s evidence.)
