Fire Prevention Week 2008
Home Fire Safety is Up to YOU!
Home Fire Safety is Up to YOU!
Fire Prevention Week 2008 (October 5-11, 2008)

Prevent Home Fires

Fire Prevention Week is observed annually throughout North America and Europe and commemorates the Great Chicago Fire in 1871 which killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless and destroyed most of the city.

This year the Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM), members of the Oregon Life Safety Team and fire safety advocates around the state are encouraging residents to prevent home fires by conducting home fire safety inspections.

The OSFM has added a new Home Fire Safety Checklist to our series of Home Fire Safety is Up to You! Materials. Click on the links below to access safety tips for all the leading causes of home fires in Oregon.
