Public involvement is important for good decision making. We encourage citizen participation in issues that affect tax professionals and their customers. Public involvement may take several forms, from simply receiving notices of Board activities, to appearances at public meetings or by formal participation in cases. Attend a Public Meeting
The Board holds public meetings about five times a year. Meetings are not generally scheduled during tax preparation season. Most meetings are held in the large conference room of the Morrow Crane Building located in Salem at 3218 Pringle Rd SE (map). Once a year the Board will meet in another area of Oregon to give licensees throughout the State the opportunity to meet and address the Board. Public meeting notices and agendas are posted on our Web site approximately one week in advance of the meeting.
The Board allows time at each meeting for public comment. Members of the public may bring up any subject related to tax preparation regulated by the Board, or may comment on matters scheduled for Board action. Public comment forms are available at the meetings for those who wish to speak.
