The Board investigates complaints alleging violation of the Veterinary Practice Act. If you feel that a veterinarian or veterinary technician has committed a violation of the Practice Act and you wish to have the Board review the case, here's what you can do:
Prepare a brief, factual account of the situation, including the licensee's and clinic name, the animal's name and type, date of occurrence and names of any additional veterinarians involved. Be sure to include your name, address and phone number in case an investigator needs to contact you for more information.
Since copies will be sent to Board members, please type or print your complaint legibly. If the complaint is not within the Board's jurisdiction, an investigator will contact you. If the complaint is within the Board's jurisdiction, you will receive an acknowledgement card and an investigation will proceed. ORS 676 prohibits disclosure of information relating to ongoing complaint investigations. Board decisions are final. When the investigation is complete, you will be notified of the Board's decision.
Note: Fee issues and business practices or policies are not within the Board's jurisdiction.
