Land Acquisition Technical Assistance (TA) Grants

Overview

OWEB offers Land Acquisition Technical Assistance grants for planning and design work for converted and impaired tidal wetland properties that applicants intend to later purchase with OWEB acquisition funds and restore to naturally functioning tidal wetlands.

Differences from other Technical Assistance grants

  • Applications may propose work that includes planning and design (regular TA grant types separate planning and design).
  • Applicants may request up to $150,000 in funding for each grant application. Awarded funds will be drawn from the budget of the Land Acquisition Program, not from the Grant Program’s budget for other technical assistance grants.
  • Up to $300,000 will be awarded for Land Acquisition TA projects in each year of the 2017-2019 biennium.
  • Applications are submitted via email rather than through OWEB’s online application system.
  • Application materials look different because of submission method and because of the acceptability of including both planning and design elements.

Application Process

Pre-Application Consultation

Prospective applicants are required to consult with OWEB’s Acquisitions Coordinator before applying for a Land Acquisition Technical Assistance grant. The pre-application consultation is intended to aid the applicant and the Acquisitions Coordinator in reaching a shared understanding of specific activities the applicant wishes to propose for funding, and whether those activities are consistent with the purpose of the grant offering.

To schedule a consultation, please contact Miriam Hulst, 503-986-0026.

Application Deadline

Land Acquisition Technical Assistance grant applications are accepted only via email. The application deadline is November 6, 2017 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time.

OWEB recommends that applicants read the Land Acquisition Technical Assistance Application Guidance before completing the application materials.

All of the following application materials are required:

Additional materials, provided below and/or listed in the Application Guidance, are optional at the time a grant application is submitted, and may later be required if a grant is awarded.
