| Chemical Dependency Training for OYA Staff and Partners! Aug 4 - 7, 2009 |

Join us for this new 4 day introductory course customized especially for OYA! This evidence-based program uses cognitive behavioral intervention methods and addresses criminal conduct and chemical dependency. During the course you’ll learn how to help youth you work with gain control over their own thoughts and feelings. You'll also learn how to help them manage those thoughts and feelings in a prosocial manner. The course is presented by the author of the Pathways series, Harvey Milkman, Ph.D. Topics included are:
This training will emphasize ATOD treatment for youth with co-occurring disorders. When possible we recommend sending QMHP’s and staff interested in working with youth who have a mental health as well as a chemical dependency diagnosis. Your Presenter:Harvey Milkman, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychology at Metropolitan State College of Denver and Director for the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Denver, Colorado. |

This 4 day course costs $180 for non-OYA staff. All materials are provided. Please note: Enrollment is limited to 20 participants and the registration deadline is Mon, July 27th at 5pm.
