| Youth Authority Appoints New Director at RiverBend Facility |

New RiverBend Director, Sid Thompson
|
SalemOR– Oregon Youth Authority Director Robert Jester today announced that he has appointed Isidro “Sid” Thompson as director of the RiverBend Facility in LaGrande.
“Sid Thompson brings a wealth of experience to Oregonand the RiverBend facility,” Jester said. “He has held a variety of positions at the county and state level, and has a thorough understanding of juvenile justice practices.”
Thompson joins OYA from Arkansaswhere he has served as the assistant director of residential operations for the Arkansas Division of Youth Services. His 31-year career in juvenile justice includes running juvenile correctional facilities, overseeing residential treatment facilities, and consulting in five states.
Thompson, 53, begins his duties February 19, 2008.
RiverBend is a youth corrections transitional facility, providing treatment services, educational programs, and work experience to 50 youth offenders as they move from a correctional facility to community supervision.
