OYA provides in-house developed trainings as well as collaborative training with vendors and partners. Training facilitated by the Academy is for new and veteran staff at all levels. Topics include safety, security, treatment and leadership skills that address today’s issues for staff working with youth offender populations. Additionally, the Academy provides professional development training such as Instructor Development Course (IDC).
The NIC Learning Center is a gateway to world-class learning opportunities for correctional professionals. The Learning Center offers a range of courses in correctional and leadership and management topics using state-of-the-art learning delivery methods. All training and services are provided free of charge to eligible correctional practitioners.
Employees can fill out a Job Interest Card and select the job category for which they would like to receive e-mail notifications. Employees will receive an e-mail notification for the next 12 months each time a position opens with the State of Oregon whose category matches one of the categories chosen.
iLearnOregon is the statewide learning management system. This Web-based tool provides a platform for classroom and online course registration and delivery, including access to e-learning content.
To register for a course in the catalog, employees can sign into iLearn Oregon, and search for the class title in the Learning Center's course catalog.

Oregon State Library
The library offers training in the use of library information products, tools and services. Classes are offered in Salem, Portland and other regions throughout Oregon.
