| Pre-2004 Invoicing: Member Contributions and Earnings |
PERS is establishing processes to resume invoicing for member contributions and earnings before 2004.
Invoice intent letters are scheduled to be mailed to employers in late September 2008.
Appeal rights will be included in the letter, and employers will have 60 days to appeal the invoice amount. Employer Service Center (ESC) account representatives are employers first point of contact in the appeal process.
Invoiced amounts shown in the September letters will appear on the Unbilled Activity of employer's online statements beginning November 21, 2008, if the invoice amount is not appealed. Employers will receive corresponding letters with an invoice breakdown that includes:
- Invoice number
- Employee names
- Years for which account contributions are due
- Accrued earnings on contributions
The invoice amount will be due on the next employer statement following the expired 60-day appeal window.
Future invoice intent letters will be sent approximately two months before each invoice.
