If you remained in the PERS Variable Annuity Program at retirement, the variable annuity portion of your monthly retirement benefit is adjusted every February 1 based on the value of the variable investments on October 31 of the preceding year.
Variable fund investments for the annual period ending October 31, 2007, increased 11.69 percent overall. The amount of a monthly increase or decrease in the variable portion of a benefit is based on your retirement date and will be reflected beginning in the February 1, 2008 benefit payment.
