Salem, OR – The Oregon Public Utility Commission will hold Open House events in three Oregon cities this month to hear from the public and provide information regarding a proposal by PacifiCorp to increase electric rates.
March 18, 2003 the company filed a request with the Commission for a general overall rate increase of 4.9 percent. The company says the increase is needed to recover rising costs for insurance, pension funding and health care, among other costs.
A residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours per month would see a monthly bill increase of $4.89 if this rate increase is approved. Small general service customers would see a 2.9 percent increase, large general service 1.2 percent, and industrial 4.6 percent.
