McKenzie Bridge (00S)
In 1965, McKenzie Bridge State Airport was acquired from the U.S. Forest Service on a permit basis. The airport is located south of State Route 126, approximately three miles east of the community of McKenzie Bridge, near the McKenzie River.
Located within the Willamette National Forest, the McKenzie Bridge State Airport provides access to northeastern Lane County. The area around the airport is primarily mountains and forest, with several State parks located along State Route 126, following the McKenzie River. The airport plays a supportive role in the current system, providing access to these recreational areas. The airport also acts as an emergency landing strip due to its remote nature. McKenzie Bridge State Airport is designated as a Level 4 airport. It is not recommended that the airport be included in the NPIAS at this time.
