How to change a DAS Mainframe password

Change current expired password:

  1. Enter your current expired password in the password field.
  2. Enter a new password of your choice using the new password rule information in the new password field.
  3. Enter the same new password of your choice again, when requested, in the new password field.

Change new temporary, expired password:

  1. Enter the new temporary, expired password you have been given in the password field.
  2. Enter a new password of your choice using the new password rule information in the new password field.
  3. Enter the same new password of your choice again, when requested, in the new password field.

DAS Mainframe new password rule information:

  • Must be seven or eight characters.
  • Must contain at least one number and one letter.
  • Must differ from previous passwords.
  • Must be changed every 90 days.
  • Should have numbers somewhere in the middle if using 1 or 2 numbers, not at the beginning or end.
  • Should NOT be the login name (RACF Userid) or reverse of the login name with a number added.
  • Should NOT be a word found in the dictionary with 1 or 2 numbers added.
  • Should NOT be a name or username, including a relative´s or pet´s name, with 1 or 2 numbers added.
  • Should NOT be a phone number, driver´s license number or other personal number with a letter.
  • Should NOT be your birth date or another´s known birth date with a letter.
  • Should NOT be a word or number that can be easily guessed.
  • Should NOT be stored where someone can discover your password.
