A. Informational and discussion item: Vision and strategic goals for DEQ and EQC
DEQ staff and EQC commissioners will review existing agency goals and discuss commissioner visions for EQC and the agency. 
 
B. Informational item: Budget and legislative updates
DEQ staff will present the final Agency Request Budget components, including priorities and policy option packages, and also present updates on legislative priorities for 2017-19. Item 1  | Item 2  | Item 3
 
Lunch - The commission will recess from approximately 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. for lunch
 
C. Action item: Director’s recruitment process
DEQ and DAS staff will present updates on the process for hiring DEQ’s permanent director. The commissioners may take action on the next steps, including candidate selection, for the recruitment.
 
D. Informational item: Director’s report
Interim Director Shepherd will present verbal and written updates on: DEQ public records process and procedures; Director's Accelerated Leadership Seminar Series; status of preparation of transition briefing book for eventual permanent Director; status of multi-agency debriefing from Mosier derailment, fire, and spill; Status of multi-agency planning for effective utilization of VW settlement mitigation and investment funds. 
 
DEQ staff will present about the agency’s technology plans, including the Electronic Data Management System that is the top priority for new funding requests in 2017-19. 
 
DEQ staff will present the draft questions and process for the commission’s annual self-evaluation survey, to be completed in July 2016 and brought for commissioner approval at the Aug. 17-18, 2016, regular meeting.
