What is the DHS/OHA DV Council?
The DV Council is committed to enhancing safety for victims/survivors of domestic violence in the way DHS and OHA services are delivered, and to developing systems that ensure a coordinated community response to intervene in and prevent violence.
The DHS|OHA DV Council advises the Director and Cabinet of each agency on issues related to domestic violence. The Council was originally formed in 2002.
We support employees by providing tools and education to promote recognition of domestic violence patterns in order to increase supportive services to victims and survivors. We are committed to continuously review our operations and improve our service delivery based upon community and employee feedback.
The Council is comprised of members from DHS, OHA, and community members committed to address domestic violence within their communities.
