What is Family Support and Connections?

Family Support and Connections is a statewide program designed to help families meet the challenges of being a parent in the world today. A local program receives referral to meet each family and help develop an individual plan or referral to overcome concerns related to:

  • Alcohol and drug treatment
  • Arranging child care
  • Arranging transportation
  • Budgeting
  • Children's behavioral issues
  • Crisis intervention
  • Domestic Violence
  • Emergency services
  • Getting an education
  • Goal setting
  • Job issues
  • Mentoring
  • Other needs
  • Parenting

Family advocates

Family Support and Connections programs are flexible and available to meet where your family feels more comfortable whether in an office, or at home. The local program provider will help identify the strengths and needs of your family and work with you to find the solutions that will work best for you and your children.

Who can get Family Support and Connections?

Family Support and Connections is available to TANF clients and any other family that is struggling.

In some places there is more demand for Family Support and Connections than can be served right away. Please, sign up anyway; there may be programs to refer you for services elsewhere while you wait.
