Preparing your community

Once you have tended to the parts of your life that you’re most involved in (i.e., your family and your workplace), you may want to turn your attention to the community in which you live. The following are several tips on how you can get involved in your community:

• Contact local emergency management staff  and participate in local efforts
• Host a neighborhood planning meeting
• Contact your city or county to see if they any have volunteer programs you can participate in
