Differential Response: Oregon's Implementation
"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn."
Oregon’s vision, exploration and implementation of Differential Response are being carefully planned. The implementation time line allows DHS to ensure necessary partnership has occurred with communities, service providers and stakeholders who are integral to the success of Differential Response.
Differential Response is being implemented through the following work efforts
Oregon Safety Model Refresh Training and Intensive Field Consultation
Classroom training and Intensive Field Consultation is in progress to support continued learning and application of the Oregon Safety Model.
Strengthening, Preserving and Reunifying Families
The goal of these services is to prevent foster care placement, preserve families and promote quicker reunification of children in foster care. Communities are working together across the state to identify service gaps and needs in their individual, unique communities. Districts are developing proposals and contracts are being implemented to create or expand the needed services.
