"This report helps us all better understand Oregon's adult abuse trends more clearly. Our goal is to use the information so that we can target our abuse-prevention efforts to have the greatest impact," said Marie Cervantes, Director of the Office of Adult Abuse Prevention and Investigations.
Cervantes said that this information will help them to learn more about the demographics of people who perpetrate abuse and root causes of why abuse is happening. She said it will lead toward more effective prevention efforts.
This is the second annual report published by DHS. The report is now available online: See the DHS Releases 2011 Report on Adult Abuse Trends
