Eugene based agency that helps people realize dreams wins award
Award winning Full Access staff.
For the second year in a row, Oregon Business Magazine presented a major statewide award to a DHS-funded non-profit that serves adults with developmental disabilities. Eugene-based Full Access was again awarded first place in the competition for the top medium-sized nonprofits to work for in Oregon. The organization won this prestigious honor last year. Awards were made to the top 100 small, medium and large organizations.
The 35 employees cite teamwork, excellent management and independence as some of the best qualities of their workplace. As one of 13 support services brokerages that contracts with DHS, Full Access provides case management and fiscal intermediary services to nearly 800 adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Their services are provided in Crook, Deschutes, Jefferson, Lake and Lane counties. With selfdirection as a fundamental component of service delivery, Full Access strives to ensure staff are also engaged through self direction.
Nearly 5,500 employees at 170 nonprofits throughout the state participated in the award process. Based on the magazine's widely regarded 100 Best Companies project, the nonprofit version was created to recognize a critical business sector that employs hundreds of thousands of workers. Nonprofits represent 12% of the workforce in Oregon, a significant economic and jobs impact. The employees who participated in the 100 Best Nonprofits survey ranked satisfaction and importance of workplace qualities in six categories: benefits and compensation; work environment; decision-making and trust; performance management; career development and learning; and sustainable workplace practices.
Full Access was also recently the recipient of a Rethink Business award with Eugene based BRING Recycling for its improvement in greening its business operations. This evaluation is based upon rethinking business practices and improvements in the areas of recycling, waste generation and energy usage.
Congratulations to Full Access! More information on Full Access can be found on the organization's website at http://fullaccess.org. |
