HIV prevention planning in Lake Oswego
The Oregon Department of Human Services HIV Prevention Statewide Planning Group will meet on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 26 and 27 at
the Lake Oswego United Church of Christ, 1111 S.W. Country Club Rd., Lake Oswego. Thursday’s meeting is from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday is from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.
As part of a cooperative agreement with the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the statewide planning group meets to develop a statewide plan to guide prevention activities. Members include county health department staff and other prevention service providers, individuals from communities most at risk for HIV infection, and at-large members selected for expertise in diverse aspects of community public health and behavioral sciences.
Some county health departments convene local committees to plan HIV prevention activities and to help determine how prevention resources will be used. Local planning committee meetings are open to the public and community members are encouraged to participate. Information about these meetings is available from HIV program coordinators at county health departments throughout the state.
