Beach Monitoring Advisory Committee to meet in Newport
The Beach Monitoring Advisory Committee will meet in Newport from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Feb. 24, at the Shilo Inn, 536 SW Elizabeth Street.
This is the third of five meetings that are devoted to the development of a public notification plan. Friday’s meeting is facilitated and will focus on refining the draft notification plan, which came out of the previous meeting. Public comment will be taken between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m.
The advisory committee was convened by the Oregon Department of Human Services to gain input into the public notification plan. The 23-member advisory committee is made up of city, county and state officials; business, environmental and tribal representatives; and others. Anyone with questions about the advisory committee should contact Cindy Gaines at (503) 731-4012.
More information about the beach program is available on the Web.
