Oregon Patient Safety Commission

The Oregon Patient Safety Commission is scheduled to hold its first official public meeting in Portland on Tuesday, March 30.

The meeting is from 12:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kaiser Permanente regional office in conference rooms 3A and 3B at 500 N.E. Multnomah Street. The majority of the agenda will be dedicated to creating a work plan and discussing alternate ways to finance the Commission’s work.

The Patient Safety Commission is a newly created semi-independent state agency with a governor-appointed 17-member board of directors. Its mission is to improve patient safety by reducing the risk of serious adverse events occurring in Oregon's health care system. One of the commission’s primary tasks will be to create a confidential reporting system for voluntary serious adverse events reporting system for Oregon.
