Department of Human Services plans May 18 public meeting on budget
The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) will hold a public meeting in Eugene on May 18 to share information and hear comment about the development of its proposed 2005-2007 budget.
The two-hour meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the ballroom of the Downtown Athletic Club, 999 Willamette St.
The presentation will include information about budget trends, major revenue sources, and major expenditure areas.
DHS oversees a broad range of human services, including child protection, welfare-to-work, public health, mental health and addiction treatment, health coverage for low income people, and services for seniors and people with disabilities.
