Public meeting notice: Public Health Advisory Board

The Public Health Advisory Board will meet in Salem on June 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 137AB of the Human Services Building, 500 Summer Street. N.E.

Agenda items include budget and legislative updates, a future childhood immunization awareness initiative, a preview of Oregon’s statewide cancer plan and a Board of Agriculture presentation on policy development related to bio-pharmaceutical crops.  Karen Whitaker, Oregon Health & Science University, will speak about rural health issues during the lunch hour.

PHAB is a 15-member board appointed by the governor that is charged with reviewing statewide public health issues and advising the Oregon Department of Human Services on public health policy matters.
