Acting superintendent named at Eastern Oregon Psychiatric Center
Terrel Rudolf, who recently took the position of superintendent at Eastern Oregon Psychiatric Hospital in Pendleton, resigned Monday for personal reasons. The resignation was effective immediately.
As a result, Satya Chandragiri, M.D., was named acting superintendent of the 60-bed psychiatric hospital by Bob Nikkel, administrator of the Office of Mental Health and Addiction Services in the Oregon Department of Human Services. DHS operates the state's three state hospital campuses.
Chandragiri, who joined the hospital staff in 2000, has been chief medical officer since 2001 and has served before as acting superintendent.
Rudolf had been named superintendent effective June 1. EOPC is the 60-bed hospital that serves civilly committed patients from counties east of the Cascades.
Nikkel said he has begun seeking a permanent superintendent.
