Governor’s Commission on Senior Services meets Friday, Committees on Thursday
What: Public meeting of the Governor’s Commission on Senior Services
When: Friday, July 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Committees meet on Thursday, July 21, and the schedule is as follows: Health, Abuse and Long-Term Care, 8-10 a.m.; Mental Health and Addiction Services, 10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.; General Issues, 1 p.m. –3 p.m.; Legislative Advocacy, 3:15 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Where: Human Services Building, 500 Summer Street N.E., Salem. Committees meet in Room 473, full Commission in Room 166.
Agenda: Items include a general discussion with Human Services Interim Director Brian Johnston about issues affecting older adults and a demonstration of “Network of Care,” an online, one-stop information and resources guide for human services that is under development and modification for use in Oregon. The Governor’s Commission on Senior Services is charged in Oregon statute with advising the Governor and the Director of Human Services on needs of elderly persons, and recommending actions by the Governor, the Department of Human Services, other governmental entities and the private sector.
