Home Care Commission Meets June 8

The Home Care Commission welcomes visitors to its meetings. Individuals who need any type of accommodation due to a disability should contact Yvonne Fleming, (503) 378-4984, at least 48 hours before the meeting.

The commission is responsible for ensuring the quality of home care services funded by the Department of Human Services for seniors and people with disabilities. The commission has four major responsibilities: 1) define the qualifications of home care workers; 2) create a statewide registry of home care workers; 3) provide training opportunities for home care workers and consumers; and 4) serve as the "employer of record" for purposes of collective bargaining for home care workers whose pay comes from public funds.
