Public Health Advisory Board meets Friday in Lincoln City
The Public Health Advisory Board will meet March 2 to hear presentations and discuss topics related to public health issues affecting Oregonians.
The meeting is from 9 a.m. until noon in the NW Conference Room, third floor of Lincoln City Hall, 801 S.W. Highway 101 in Lincoln City.
Agenda topics and approximate times include:
9 a.m. -- Announcements, minutes approval and introduction of new board members;
9:15 a.m. -- Public health update by Susan Allan, M.D., J.D., M.P.H., Oregon Department of Human Services Public Health Division administrator;
9:35 a.m. -- Legislative update by Katy King, DHS Public Health Division government relations liaison;
9:50 a.m. -- Discussion of SB33, water system fluoridation, and SB 234, genetically modified products;
10:45 a.m. -- Discussion of SB 162, emergency medical services and trauma reform; and
11:15 a.m. – Lunch and discussion of emerging issues.
The meeting will adjourn at noon so members can provide testimony on HB 2185, public health law and authorities, at a Joint Emergency Preparedness Field Hearing in City Hall Council Chambers, third floor of Lincoln City Hall.

PHAB is a 15-member board whose members are appointed by the Governor and are charged with reviewing statewide public health issues and advising the DHS Public Health Division on public health policy matters.
