Governor's Commission on Senior Services to meet Thursday and Friday

March 22: Caregivers Committee, 10 to 11:50 a.m.; Presentation on Emergency Preparedness for Seniors and People with Disabilities 12:10 to 12:50 p.m.; Elder Abuse Committee, 1 to 2:50 p.m.; Mental Health Committee, 3 to 4:50 p.m.
March 23: Legislative Committee, 8 to 9:50 a.m.; Full Commission 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Public comment at 10:20 a.m.
A forum on regulation in the Long-Term Care Industry will be from 12:05 to 12:50 p.m. Representatives from the Department of Human Services and the Oregon Health Care Association will be presenting.
The Governor's Commission on Senior Services is charged in Oregon statute with advising the governor and the director of DHS on needs of elderly persons, and recommending actions by the governor, DHS, other governmental entities and the private sector, appropriate to meet such needs.
Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed for individuals requesting assistive hearing devices, sign language interpreters or large-print materials. Individuals needing these types of accommodations should call DHS at 503-378-4984 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
