Council members to hear from county officials, program managers
What: Public meeting of the Governor's Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs.
When: June 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Mid-Columbia Center for Living, 1610 Woods Court, Hood River.
Agenda: Council members, who meet twice yearly in different parts of Oregon, will be in Hood River to receive comment from community members in Gilliam, Hood River, Sherman and Wasco counties. Council members will hear about prevention and treatment programs and the work of the county and Mid-Columbia Center; beginning at 11:30 a.m. they will hear from a locally elected county commissioner and judge. In addition, on Monday council members will meet over dinner to consider a proposal to work with the Oregon Department of Human Services Addiction and Mental Health Division to schedule a summit to develop a three-biennium statewide vision and strategic plan for alcohol and other drug prevention, treatment and recovery; the 6 p.m. meeting will be at Three Rivers Grill, 601 Oak St., Hood River.
