Council members to hear agency reports and addiction-research summary

What: Public meeting of the Governor's Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs.

When: Aug. 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where: Room 137A, Barbara Roberts Human Services Building, 500 Summer St., N.E., Salem.

Agenda: Council members are scheduled to hear alcohol-related reports from Mickey Serice and Jay Wurscher of the Oregon Department of Human Services Children, Adults and Families Division, and from Iris Bell of the state Commission on Children and Families. Among other agenda items include a summary of key findings about alcohol and drug use in Oregon from DHS's Geralyn Brennan and a discussion by council members about whether to include problem gambling prevention and treatment in the scope of their work.
