Yamhill added to counties eligible for emergency food stamps
Effective today, a total of four counties affected by the December storm disaster will be able to apply for emergency Food Stamp Disaster Assistance Program.
Today, Yamhill County was added to the list of eligible counties that previously included Clatsop, Tillamook, and Columbia Counties. If you live or work in one of the affected counties and currently receive food stamps, you may be eligible to receive a supplement to your December food stamps.
If you live or work in one of the affected counties and do not currently receive food stamps, you can apply for the Disaster Food Stamp Program. Only individuals who lived or worked in one of the affected areas and experienced damage to their property resulting in disaster-related expenses or have a loss of job or income will receive Disaster Food Stamp Program benefits.
Residents can apply for benefits in the Department of Human Services office nearest them.
