When: 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13

200 Commercial Street SE
Details: The Oregon Department of Human Services is hosting a public forum to solicit input, encourage discussion and provide information about the Oregon State Hospital Replacement Project.
For more than 120 years the Oregon State Hospital has been Oregon's primary mental health treatment facility. In 2003 Governor Ted Kulongoski established a mental health task force to identify problems in Oregon's mental health system and recommend solutions. The Oregon State Hospital Replacement Project is an effort to revitalize and modernize Oregon's overall system of mental health care.
The 2007 Oregon Legislature authorized funding for two new state-operated psychiatric facilities. The Salem facility is scheduled to open in 2011 and the Junction City facility in 2013. Oregon's goal is to create an integrated, community-based health care system that focuses on mental wellness.
Participation: Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals requesting assistance to be able to attend this forum. Please contact the Oregon State Hospital Replacement Team at 503-945-5935 or by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org at least five days prior to the meeting date to request auxiliary
