How can I become an OIS Instructor?

The process of becoming an OIS instructor takes approximately 80 hours to complete.
Step 1: Submit an Instructor Training application to the OIS project. The application will be reviewed by the OIS Steering Committee, and the applicant will be interviewed by an OIS representative.
Step 2: Attend a 40+ hour instruction training, offered several times per year.
Step 3: Observe two workshops, then co-train two workshops, both with a Mentor trainer.
Step 4: A representative of the OIS project will conduct a review of the trainer candidate. Upon successful completion of the review, the candidate will be certified. OIS mandates additional requirements to maintain OIS instructor certification.
