Transformation Roadmap Background
The Transformation Roadmap describes the path the agency will follow as it becomes a world class organization. For DHS and OHA, being world class means being held up as a model for others to follow. To transform ourselves into the best in the world, we must approach our work differently than in the past. The Transformation Initiative provides the focus, structure and tools to relentlessly pursue excellence by constantly seeking and making improvements in the work we do for the people of Oregon.
The Transformation Initiative Roadmap is the result of an intense study completed in August 2008 by McKinsey & Company, a global consulting firm. The goal of the study was to understand current performance levels and the best possible performance in order to identify opportunities to improve. The Roadmap describes how DHS and OHA organized and prioritized the large-scale transformation effort, and includes an overview of our early improvement initiatives. It covers the launch and first phase of the Transformation Initiative.

Transformation Roadmap Analysis
About a year after DHS and OHA launched the Transformation Initiative, a detailed review of the original Roadmap and an assessment of progress was done. The goal of the review was to summarize each recommendation in the Roadmap; verify and validate information for the improvement initiatives; adjust original estimates, if needed, and to identify the agency's implementation progress. Based on this analysis, targets were revised and improvement initiatives re-prioritized.
