How to Get Involved

The commitment, vision, skills and abilities of our council members are the basis of success for the Oregon State Rehabilitation Council. If you are interested in becoming a member we look forward to hearing from you. We encourage you to attend a quarterly meeting, contact our staff, or arrange a meeting with a council member for additional information. Review and complete the Executive Appointment Interest form and the SRC Membership Questionnaire.

Applications are reviewed by the SRC and after interview and screening, a recommendation vote is forwarded to the Governor's office. The Governor makes all appointment decisions. Members may serve two consecutive three year terms, however the second term is not guaranteed. The Governor's office must approve appointment for the second term.

Commitment

Each SRC member serves at the pleasure of the Governor. On an average, members should be able to spend 4-6 hours per month on Council activities. Quarterly meetings are held on the first Friday of February, May, August and November. Committee meetings are scheduled as needed, and are usually conducted by conference call. Members receive reimbursement for reasonable and necessary expenses as needed to support their active participation at business meetings and other related functions.
