Oregon State Police clear scene at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility

A suspicious package found today at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF), in Wilsonville, was deemed not to be a threat at about 1:30 p.m. by the Oregon State Police bomb squad.

At 11:45 a.m., the CCCF mail room received a suspicious package. Security precautions were immediately put into effect and the Oregon State Police were contacted to investigate.

As a precaution, the afternoon session of inmate visiting was canceled. Now that an all-clear has been called, evening inmate visiting will go on as normally scheduled.

CCCF is the state's only female prison and the Intake Center for all inmates entering DOC custody. Today, CCCF houses 1,455 inmates.
